Nivida Lamichhane
I was first introduced to traditional hatha yoga in Nepal at the age of 13. Though I wasn’t immediately hooked, the practice of yoga – including asanas, meditation, and pranayama – captured my attention as a teenager. Over the past 15 years, I’ve practiced with various teachers in different countries and styles, which has made me open to all forms of yoga teachings. Since 2020, I’ve made it a tradition to travel to India for a month-long yoga holiday in a traditional ashram, which has been a very rewarding experience.
Yoga, with its asanas, meditation and pranayama, has been a profound source of transformation and healing in my own life. This has led to a strong desire to take the next step in my yoga journey: becoming a teacher. In the spring of 2022, I received my teacher training certificate, and since then, it has been a fun journey sharing this gift with others. From then on, I have been teaching yoga at different locations and settings. One of the most fulfilling aspects of teaching yoga is empowering students to cultivate self-awareness, strength, and resilience both on and off the mat. Witnessing their growth, progress, and newfound sense of confidence fills my heart with joy and gratitude.
Teaching yoga is a dynamic and evolving process that challenges me to continually deepen my practice, expand my knowledge, and explore new ways of sharing the teachings of yoga. This journey of lifelong learning keeps me inspired and energized as a teacher.
