Meet the festival teachers
A quick introduction to the festival teachers. More elaborate profiles on the Ghosh Yoga annoucement.
Diana Schultz has practiced yoga regularly since 2005, and has participated in Ghosh Yoga Practice week, Teaching week and Teacher training.
Jessica DiBlasio “discovered the profound and beneficial aspects of nervous system regulation from a regular pranayama practice. She enjoys preparing individual sequences for friends and family that support functional strength and mobility. She also leads group breathing practices and classes based on therapeutic exercises for her colleagues in the environmental non-profit sector.”
Nicole Masterson’s yoga journey “started 10 years ago, in a hot yoga studio, to recover from a shoulder injury. I have developed a home practice, supported by a 5-year mentorship with Scott. My motivating curiosity is the history and science of yoga trying to understand how yoga has and will evolve. I enjoy sharing what I have learned by teaching colleagues and friends.”
Jade Stott “came to yoga in 2010, and in 2012 experienced the support of a daily Bikram/26&2 practice while healing injuries, both physical and mental. She fell in love with Ghosh in her very first class with Ida and Scott in January 2020, discovering the art of subtraction and the quiet stillness the practice can offer, qualities she now loves to share in her teaching. She understands that knowing the purpose behind a posture or exercise matters when rebuilding strength, resilience, and overall wellbeing.”
Iliyan Iliev “has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. He regularly teaches Ghosh Yoga, 26+2, and 26+2 Modifications in Varna, Bulgaria.”
Ralf Johannes classes “emphasize powerful yet controlled movement, supporting the body through therapeutic exercises, asanas, pranayama, and meditation. My intention is to cultivate greater calm, health, and mental clarity both on and off the mat. In the intermediate and advanced yoga classes I guide students step by step to deepen and elevate their personal practice.”
Cristina Furlan “values the rigorous and inclusive approach of Ghosh Yoga and appreciates its emphasis on continual learning and improvement. In her teaching, she integrates her background in higher education, leadership, and movement to support students in their individual yoga journeys so they can grow on and off the mat.”
Anouka van Eerdewijk “is interested in working with the body, breath and mind in ways that build strength and coherence. She developed a practice to support herself while recovering from long covid, and later started offering this so-called Sana yoga to others recovering from comparable conditions. It uses simple yet powerful asana and breathing practices to connect with and move the body, to support its self-healing capacity.”
Last but certainly not least:
Scott Lamps and Ida Jo are yoga scholars and practitioners and are the head teachers of Ghosh Yoga. They were awarded the title Yoga Acharya (Master of Yoga) by the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center and hold Master’s degrees in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation from SOAS University of London. They are the authors of 4 Ghosh Yoga Practice Manuals and authored a book of modifications for the postures of Bikram Yoga, entitled 26+2 Modifications. They compiled, edited and published the lost manuscript of 84 Yoga Asanas by Buddha Bose, and edited the English translation of Gouri Shankar Mukerji’s works from German and Bengali. Scott is a regular guest teacher of anatomy, breathing and functional movement for various trainings worldwide.
A short history of this festival
Then a decade went by … “Now, Ghosh yoga has rooted itself all over the world. Rooted in our individual commitments to humility, discipline and knowledge, we find that connection is an important part of a sustained life of practice.”
“To celebrate a decade of Practice Week and a commitment to both practice and community: we offer the inaugural Ghosh Yoga Festival! We will gather with each other to celebrate and deepen both our individual yoga practices and the community we’ve all built.”
